Macard Extender Setup with Linksys AC2200: Complete Guide
You can connect the Macard WiFi extender with any WiFi router which extends signals into house. There are two simple methods that you can use to complete the Macard extender setup with Linksys router: one is WPS and other is go.macard.online interface.
But first, you need to check all the Linksys AC2200 router settings in your PC connected with the Linksys network.
Check Linksys AC2200 Router Settings
- Open your browser. Doesn’t matter which. Type this into the address bar: 192.168.1.1. Hit Enter. That’s the default gateway for most Linksys routers. If it doesn’t work, try: myrouter.local.
- You’ll hit a login page. Default username is usually blank. Password is either: admin or whatever you changed it to (if you remember).
- If you’ve changed it and forgot? Yeah, you might be resetting the router (button on the back, hold for 10 seconds).
- You’ll see the main dashboard. Here’s what you can look at:
- Device List – shows who’s connected
- Wi-Fi Settings – SSID, password, band selection (2.4GHz / 5GHz / 5GHz-2 if tri-band)
- Security – firewall, VPN passthrough, parental controls
- Administration – firmware updates, backup/restore config
- Connectivity – where you can mess with IP settings, DNS, etc.
- Speed Check – sometimes there’s a built-in test. Meh, use it if you want.
NOTE: If you’re using the Linksys app or Linksys Smart Wi-Fi (cloud-based access), the interface might look different—but the settings are mostly the same, just laid out in a more annoying way.
Things Worth Checking
- Firmware – Go under Connectivity > Firmware Update. Hit “Check for Updates.” If it’s outdated, update it. It can fix weird issues.
- Channel settings – Under Wireless > Advanced Settings. If you’re dealing with lag or dropouts, switch from “Auto” to a fixed channel. Test it.
- Guest Network – Turn it off if you’re not using it. It’s just another way someone can mooch bandwidth.
- UPnP – Leave it on unless you have a reason to shut it off. Some games or smart devices rely on it.
Macard Extender Setup with Linksys Router
Don’t plug the extender in the basement or halfway across the house. Start simple — like 5-10 feet from your Linksys router. You’re just getting them to handshake right now. You can move it later.
Plug the Macard into a wall outlet. You’ll see a bunch of lights go nuts for a minute. Wait until that WPS/Signal light stops freaking out. It should either blink slowly or just sit solid.
Via WPS Connection
- On the Macard: There should be a WPS button — usually marked “WPS” or some weird WiFi symbol. Hold it down for like 2 seconds until the WPS light starts blinking.
- Now, on your Linksys router: press its WPS button. Hold it for about 3 seconds, then let go. You should see the router’s WPS light start doing its own blinking dance.
- Give it like 30 seconds. Maybe a minute tops. The WPS light on the Macard should go from blinking to solid. That means it thinks it connected.
- Connect to that network. Use the sameWiFi password you use for your main router. If it connects and you can browse the internet.
Via Go.macard.online
- On your phone, laptop, or whatever you’re using — go to WiFi settings. Look for something like: Macard_EXT or WiFi Repeater
- Connect to that. No password required usually. If it asks, try “admin” or check the label on the device.
- Open Chrome, Safari, Firefox. Type in: go.macard.online
- If that doesn’t load? Try: 192.168.10.1
- You’ll hit the Macard setup page. It’s not pretty, but it works. Username: admin and Password: admin (or blank, depending on model)
- Now, you’ll see a list of WiFi networks. Find your Linksys router SSID. Click it. Enter the password for your Linksys WiFi.
- Click Apply or Connect or whatever button looks right.
- After hitting apply, the extender will reboot. Takes like 1-2 mins.
Now, the Macard WiFi extender setup is completed and you can link with extended network.
Troubleshooting Tips
Reboot the Extender Once in a Week
Rebooting will refresh the extender settings and its hardware. So, to restart the device you need to cut off the power supply and turn it on again.
Reset Extender If Multiple Issues Occurs
Plug the extender into an outlet. Make sure it’s fully on you’ll see lights blinking or solid. Wait like 30 seconds just to be safe.
Now take that paperclip, press and hold the reset button. Hold it down for 10-15 seconds. you’ll probably see the lights flicker or go out and come back. That’s your cue it’s resetting.
End Thoughts
Hope, the extender successfully connects with the Linksys router and you are using the fast and extended network connection.
