How to Setup Macard MC1800 WiFi Range Extender?
The Macard MC1800 is a dual-band WiFi range extender, which connect with your WiFi router easily and quickly. Here, in this post, you will get to learn how to complete the Macard MC1800 setup step-by-step.
Step-by-Step Macard MC1800 Setup
Step 1: Unbox and Plug It In
Sounds obvious, but hey—it starts here. Open the box, take out the extender, and plug it into a wall outlet midway between your router and the area where the signal is weak. Make sure the spot you choose has at least a fair WiFi signal from your main router. You’ll want to avoid placing it in a complete dead zone.
You’ll see the power light come on.
Step 2: Connect to the Macard Network
Now, go to your laptop, phone, or tablet. Open your WiFi settings and look for a new network—it’ll be something like: MACARD_EXT
Connect to it. There’s no password at this point. Once connected, your device might prompt you to sign in or redirect you automatically to a Macard WiFi extender setup page. If not, just open your browser and type in: 192.168.10.1
Step 3: Log In to the Web Interface
You’ll land on the Macard configuration page. It’s pretty simple.
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
Step 4: Choose Repeater Mode
Once you’re in, you’ll see a few options. Select Repeater Mode. This is the mode that extends your existing WiFi signal.
The extender will scan for nearby networks. Give it a moment. You’ll then see a list of available WiFi networks.
Step 5: Connect to Your Home WiFi
Find your home WiFi name (the SSID) on the list and click on it. Enter your regular WiFi password when prompted.
Now, you’ll be asked to name the extended network. You can either keep the same name with _EXT added at the end, or set a completely new name. Choose whatever helps you remember which is which.
Click Apply or Save, and the extender will restart. This might take a minute or two.
Step 6: Reconnect Your Devices
Once the extender reboots, you’ll see the new network name pop up in your WiFi list. Go ahead and connect your devices to it using the same password you use for your main WiFi (unless you changed it during setup).
Use WPS for One-Touch Setup
If your router has a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button, setup can be even faster.
Here’s how:
- Plug in the Macard extender near your router.
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the extender.
- Wait for the lights to stabilize. The extender should automatically link up to your router.
Once paired, you can unplug it and move it to your desired location.
Note: WPS can be hit or miss depending on your router, but when it works, it’s super convenient.
Troubleshooting Tips
Can’t Connect to Setup Page?
Make sure you’re connected to the extender’s temporary network before typing 192.168.10.1 in your browser that open the Macard WiFi Extender login interface.
No Internet After Setup?
Double-check that you entered the correct WiFi password during setup. If you typed it wrong, the extender won’t connect to your router.
Extender Not Showing in WiFi List?
Unplug it, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
Slow Speeds?
Try placing the extender a little closer to your router. Too far and the signal it picks up will already be weak—so you’ll just be repeating a poor signal.
